We plan to reopen our Restaurant from Friday 28th May for Brunch & Dinner with our regular post Covid opening hours
Welcome to The French Rooms Restaurant in the heart of the Bushmills, home to the world’s oldest licensed distillery and the gateway to the Giant’s Causeway – an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Our vision is for a pleasantly relaxed, informal and friendly licensed restaurant offering simple French inspired and elegantly presented dishes priced for regular visits and not just for special occasions.
The Restaurant
On entering there is an impressive library featuring books on travel, food, and interior design with easy chairs and a double sided fire. (Unfortunately during the COVID-19 pandemic the Library is not available and seating is reduced.)
The Restaurant is imaginatively designed with zinc topped tables and bar counter setting the tone. There’s French inspired wall decorations, hide away ‘snugs’ and a Petite Salon’ with a cosy open fire. For small parties, the semi-private area, affectionately known as the “Moulin Rouge”, is the perfect spot for parties for up to 10 people.
Brunch Menu
The Brunch menu includes French bistro classics like Eggs Benedict and Croque Monsieur. What about a French Rooms classic – croissant dipped in whipped frothy egg, lightly fried in butter and filled with crispy bacon and fried egg or honey? For more lunch like dishes try the Tarte flambée – a popular Alsace dish served traditionally with a crème fresh topping, streaky bacon and sauté onions or you could go for the whole baked camembert with mixed herbs served hot with crusty breads and accompanied with an intense Shiraz – bon appetit.
Dinner
Dinner, now from 5:30 retains some of the day time favourites like Tarte flambée. Specialities might include Roast suprême of guinea fowl with a creamy forest mushroom sauce or Cajun French sea bass with our house made spiced Cajun rub, oven baked and drizzled with Broighter Gold fragrant dill infused rapeseed oil. There’s a choice of tempting sweets including our Tarte tatin, a traditional French apple dessert and to complete your evening you could try a “Ma Cools Shake” – a French Rooms classic – creamy vanilla ice cream whipped with Bushmills whiskey or Bailey’s Irish cream – to die for!
