Open Wednesday to Sunday
Welcome to The French Rooms in the heart of the Bushmills, home to the world’s oldest licensed distillery and the gateway to the Giant’s Causeway – a World Heritage Site. Our vision is for a warm, welcoming and informal setting, a place to meet up with friends, drop in for cup of great coffee or savour the flavours of our elegantly prepared dishes from our morning, lunch and dinner (2/3 evenings) menus.
There’s a lot to explore, firstly the shop with its eclectic range of French inspired gifts and a gourmet grocer counter with Mediterranean and local delicacies, fresh breads and house made scones freshly baked each morning.
The Cafe with its zinc topped tables and bar counter features hide away ‘snugs’ while the “Moulin Rouge” is great for semi private parties for up to 10 persons. Leading from the Café is the petite ‘Salon de The’ – ideal for afternoon tea in front of the cosy fire. You could search out the Garden Room where on hot summer days the doors open out to the terrace, a sun trap from early afternoon while on cold winter days the stone surround open fire is the perfect spot for relaxing with a newspaper and a snack.
The elegant staircase leads to the ‘shabby chic’ Huguenot Room with its time aged French furnishings, novel gift ideas and the long dining table, perfect for special occasions (maximum 12) or private meetings.
The Visitor Information Centre is directly opposite the French Rooms and there’s an excellent public car park very close by, about 100 yards. The car park is also the Park & Ride to the Giant’s Causeway and here’s a tip – a little known fact but if visiting the Giant’s Causeway it’s cheaper to use the Park & Ride (operates March to October) than trying to park at the Causeway.
We hope you can pick up a flavour of the French Rooms from our web site and that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you to ‘the French Room’ someday soon.
